RCA 74B Ribbon Microphone Repair This RCA 74B ribbon microphone was in need of a little more than a new ribbon. $180.00Read more The microphone had taken a spill, which broke the motor mounts, and bent the clamps brackets. Luckily, aside from the rust pitting on the base of the microphone, the grills were in good shape, although they definitely needed to be resilked. The posts that hold the magnet motor assembly to the frame broke on one side, the rubber grommets they sat in all dried and crumbly, and the clamp brackets were bent, so had to completely disassemble the microphone to correct the problems. Once everything was cleaned up, reassembled, and rewired, the base was ready to be repainted, and the microphone was ready to have a new ribbon installed. Share this:ShareTweetEmail
